Hi Jim,
1) As you said me, I put the details as “Rodolfo y su Tipica – La colegiala” on to http://www.songbpm.com. As you said I got the result 103 bpm.
2) There is a famous Salsa song “I’ve had the Time of My Life” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpmILPAcRQo ) Check the bpm of this song. Result is 109 bpm.( http://songbpm.com/bill-medley/i-ve-had-the-time-of-my-life ). I count the bpm to this song manually. I got same amount. As I am trying to say you, we can dance Salsa around 100 bpm. Not only more than 200 bpm. Likewise, how you can say “Rodolfo y su Tipica – La colegiala” is not a Salsa song.
3) Other thing is I am not sure this web site gives the correct results. Just check this song. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcEt4eZNKn4 ) The number of beats of that song is 147 according to the web side. ( http://songbpm.com/tim-mcgraw/my-best-friend ) As I can understand it is a slow song. When I count it comes around 75 bpm. Can I have your idea?
